How to choose earrings?

Like many of you out there I have lots of earrings in multiple jewellery boxes waiting for me to wear. But if your like all my other girlfriends there are always a select few that we wear to death and then there are those that once we have bought them we never even try them on or look at them again. We all buy that cute little earring while on holiday or in the sale on impulse and most time we usually regret our impulse buy.

Well to save money and time to buy earrings that will really get worn her is what I try to do. Ask yourself

1. What types of earrings you have in your collection – which ones do you wear most and which ones get pushed to the back of the jewellery box? This should be the starting point on understanding which types of earrings suit you and suit your lifestyle.


2. Do you wear large hanging earrings or small studs? Do you know why? Is it the size of the earring so close to your face that makes a difference? If you only wear small studs, will that large dangly earring that’s so in fashion be worn once and then never seen again?

Stud earrings are excellent for complementing an outfit, a favourite pair will keep getting worn again and again and will sometimes become your signature earring. Sterling silver earrings are perfect for this – look after them and you can wear them for years. In general, stud earrings are not fashion items and won’t date so for a really good quality pair you will get alot of use from them.

Larger earrings are better for dressing up an outfit to make a statement. Wearing your hair tied up and having large earrings gives a glamorous impression and makes you feel special. Not everyone can wear large earrings as they can overpower the face and no one notices you, just the earrings, this is especially true for petite wearers. Choose your earrings carefully as face shapes are also a deciding factor in your purchase,. There is a large earring out there to suit everyone all you need to know is what you feel comfortable with and what works best with your personality.

But no matter what shape or size your face you can wear your favourite fashion trend with ease, just opt for the smaller or medium size versions if you’re petite and larger and bold options if you have the personality and style to carry it off.
